Schedule } A Mid-Season Vacation

We are soooo hitting the Happiest Place on Earth in T-Minus 48 hours!! Yipppppeee! A little mid-season siesta is definitely in order for this one happily busy designer.

The studio will be closed from Saturday, June 18th through Sunday, June 26th. I will of course keep a weather-eye out for emails and be checking my voicemail ... but will not be returning messages {both email and phone} unless there is some sort of cataclysmic paper event that needs my immediate attention. All new inquiries, sadly, will have to wait for my return.

Schedule } Studio Offline Thursday

Mini beach break planned for Thursday, June 9th. Yeah, I wish it was a little break to the beach - that would be amazing!! Unfortunately, PG&E services will be down in our area tomorrow and we will be MIA via email, web and online information requests until Friday, June 10th. We are available via an old antiquated method ... ya know ... the phone at 916.257.1641 should you need to reach us.

New Year ... New Diggs!

Yep! We're on the move! Our new studio/office space located at 448 G Street, Suite 203 in Historic Downtown Lincoln. We're in the beautiful brick building that housed Lincoln Brand Feeds back in the day.

Our new building neighbors include: Old Town Pizza, Awful Annies, and Anew Salon & Spa to name a few.

Our new space is three times the size of our old diggs and boasts oodles more design and decor potential!!! My office-mate {Blooms by Martha Andrews} and I have got our new decor direction down and starting with a little painting & signage this week. Look for mini teaser posts on our progress over the next several weeks.

I'm back from holiday break and super-excited for what Twenty Eleven has in store! New clients, new projects ... and a fresh new outlook is all a paper girl could ask for.

Schedule } Holiday Break

Stephanie J Designs is on Holiday break until the New Year!!! We are returning calls and emails during our break, however consultations will be scheduled after January 10th. Cheers to everyone who has supported SJD this year and years of old!!! Without you our little bespoke paperie would not have enjoyed it's continued success!!!!

Schedule } Thanksgiving Holiday

A quick note to mention our studio will be closed Wednesday, November 24th 2010 through Sunday, November 28th celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday with our family and friends. We will return to the studio Monday, November 29th.

As you can see from the lack of blog posts that it has been wedding, baby and party mayhem here at SJD. We promise to get back to blogging upon our return from an end of summer break.

Yep, that's right! We are taking a much needed end of summer break. Our studio will be closed from 8/9 to 8/15 - we'll be back to work bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on 8/16. We will be checking messages once per day and returning non-urgent messages upon our return.

Kiddos } News-worthy Christening Invitation

Finally getting some pics taken of all the wonderful papery projects I worked on throughout last year. One of my recent favorites is this Christening invitation for Mason, son to my loyal clients The Chiesa's.

If I had to pick something I specialize in, it is text. More specifically, the graphical arrangement of objects and text together. I LOVE IT! I am, and always have been, enamored with text, letters, words - don't even get me started on fonts.

Which in some {round about way} makes me think about some verrrrry exciting projects here at SJD. Through the beginning half of this year I am working on designing a signature collection. Some of the signature pieces are made from favorites of past client designs and even more exciting {well to me anyway!} are the signature designs straight from my own little imagination. Think ... graphical text invitations, movie inspired invitations, new event decor & papery products {can't spill the beans on these just yet!} and on, and on. I am bursting at the seams for all that this year and the years to come hold for my little papery company!! Can't wait to share it with you all!

Oh, yea ... and at some point I'll get around to finishing my web re-design!!!! Aaaaaa!

SJD Messages > When to Order?

I uploaded this nifty little 2009-2010 Ordering Calendar for ya'll.  The calendar shows recommended months to order your wedding and social stationery based on the month of your event.  As always, it is best to order early - but should you find yourself in a panic with your event rapidly approaching - I do my best to accommodate rush orders.  If I'm really pressed I can (depending on the type of stationery) get an order done in two weeks.  The greatest exception to that rush two weeks is silk products.  Silk products take on average 4-12 weeks to arrive from the manufacturer.

Weddings ... in the chart I show columns for save the dates (and/or engagement announcements), invitations & reception.  The reception column speaks to table cards, escort cards, place cards, programs, favor tags, etc.  I do recommend ordering everything together - around the same time you're ordering save the dates & invitations - however, with reception stationery you have a better idea of quantities once all your replies are in.  You can always place your order early then we can adjust quantities as necessary prior to production.

When to Mail for Weddings ...

Save the Dates = Send 4-6 Months before the wedding 

Invitations = Send 8-10 Weeks before the wedding 

When to Mail for Social Events ...

Invitations = Send 4-6 Weeks before the event

Shows > Premier Wedding Show, Arden Hills

It's about that time!  2009 Wedding Season opens tomorrow at Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa.  This upscale show caters to the bride who is looking for the best of the best in the Sacramento wedding industry.  Join us tomorrow, January 4th, from 11am to 4pm to meet vendors, see a fashion show and learn about special offers.  Check out the Premier Wedding Show website for more details.

Hello, all!  I will be out of the studio this weekend painting a mural for my niece.  Photos to come ... :)  I will have access to email and my cell - will be checking messages a few times a day.  Returning non-urgent messages on Monday.  Have a happy weekend!

SJD Messages > Schedule

Just wanted to post a quick note about my schedule.  My work days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.  Most of you who know me - know that I usually answer my phone later in the evening - but I try to close up the studio around 5pm to share a meal with my family.  I prefer to book appointments on Mondays & Sundays - anytime day or evening.

I am off on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  This is new.  I have finally realized that I am not a machine and need to rest my mind & body to be in tip-top creative shape.  I actually turn off my phone and check messages (both phone & email) once during those days.  It's a bit of a necessity to get that uninterrupted 1:1 time in with my family.  I return messages on the following work day.  

I'll also be posting messages/notes/updates to the blog under SJD Messages in the label section to the right >> so that you know the 411 24/7.  It's just the quickest and easiest way to get a note out to the masses.  Mostly quick notes like updates to my schedule, product availability, and the like.
